Which Kosher Phones Have WhatsApp?

Which Kosher Phones Have WhatsApp?

A complete guide to WhatsApp across the Kosher Cell lineup — which devices have it, how it's filtered, and which one fits your standard.

The short answer

Every koshered smartphone we sell has the option for WhatsApp — all of our Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices can run it. Among flip phones, the MegaLife is the only kosher flip that can have WhatsApp — but in a much stricter, media-free form. The Qin F30, TCL Flip, Coolpad Belleza, Fig Flip, Kyocera DuraXA, and Wonder phones do not run WhatsApp.

What's filtered on every phone

No matter which device you choose, two things are true everywhere:

  • Channels are blocked on all phones. WhatsApp Channels — the open, broadcast-style feeds — are removed on every device we sell, with no exceptions.
  • Statuses are blocked by default. The Status feature (the photo/video "stories" feed) is off by default on every phone.

That baseline is the same on a flagship Samsung and on a MegaLife flip. The difference between devices is what happens inside your actual chats.

WhatsApp on koshered smartphones (Samsung Galaxy & Google Pixel)

This is the fuller WhatsApp experience, with the distracting feeds stripped out:

  • Direct messages and group chats work normally — including sending and receiving images and videos in chats.
  • Voice notes and voice/video calls work.
  • Channels blocked, Statuses blocked by default (as above).
  • AI features blocked — no Meta AI, no AI image generation, no AI chat inside WhatsApp.

If you need WhatsApp to send and receive pictures — for work, for coordinating with family, for a business that runs on it — a koshered Samsung or Pixel is the right choice. It's the lightest WhatsApp filtering we offer.

WhatsApp on the MegaLife flip phone

The MegaLife is the only kosher flip that supports WhatsApp, and it runs the strictest version we offer — built for people who want to stay reachable on WhatsApp without any media at all:

  • Text messages and voice notes only.
  • Calls work normally.
  • All media is blocked — no images or videos sent or received, in direct chats or groups.
  • No profile pictures — not yours, not your contacts'.
  • No Statuses, no Channels.

In other words: you can read and write WhatsApp messages, send voice notes, and make calls — and that's it. Nothing to see, nothing to scroll. For many customers and institutions, this media-free version is exactly the point.

Which phones do NOT have WhatsApp

To be clear, WhatsApp is not available on the Qin F30, TCL Flip, Coolpad Belleza, Fig Flip line, Kyocera DuraXA 4831, or Wonder phones (including Wonder Talk-Only). If WhatsApp is a requirement, your two paths are a koshered smartphone or the MegaLife flip.

Quick comparison

Device WhatsApp? Chats Media in chats Voice notes & calls Channels Statuses Profile pics
Samsung Galaxy / Google Pixel Yes (option) Full Yes (images & video) Yes Blocked Blocked by default Yes
MegaLife flip Yes Text only No (all media blocked) Yes Blocked Blocked No
Qin F30, TCL, Belleza, Fig, Kyocera, Wonder No

Bottom line

Want WhatsApp with pictures? Choose a koshered Samsung or Pixel. Want to stay on WhatsApp for messages and voice notes with zero media and zero feeds? The MegaLife flip is the one. Either way, Channels are gone and Statuses are off — that part doesn't change. Questions about a specific standard your community or yeshiva requires?
